The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer II reference 216570 combines a 42 mm Oystersteel case with a high-contrast black dial, a fixed 24-hour graduated bezel and a three-piece Oyster bracelet. Its distinctive orange arrow-shaped hand works alongside the bezel to distinguish daytime from night-time hours or display a second time zone.
Introduced in 2011, reference 216570 marked a major evolution of the Explorer II with an enlarged 42 mm Oyster case, expanded dial proportions and a prominent orange 24-hour hand inspired by the visual identity of the original Explorer II.
The black dial uses oversized geometric hour markers and broad hands for immediate reading. Chromalight luminescent material produces a long-lasting blue glow, while the orange arrow-shaped hand introduces a clear contrast across the display.
